The first two graduates of Institute of California's innovative MedicoRN program are starting work at a leading hospital in San Diego, California. Because of their extensive training and clinical experience, they are will work in challenging and exciting clinical units, including Neurotrauma and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
Institute of California's MedicoRN program is the first program that enables Spanish-speaking physicians to earn the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in just 18 months, through our partnership with accredited nursing schools throughout Mexico and Latin America. Graduates of the program are guaranteed work at an Institute of California client hospital in the U.S., doing exciting and challenging work as a clinical professional with a Registered Nurse license. Salaries for program graduates start at over $50,000 dollars per year, and securing a work visa is included as part of the program.
We will continue to provide news updates on the progress of our graduates. Below is an example of the documentation received by one of our graduates - Omar Borrego-Garcia, MD, RN, BSN - which shows his progression through medical school, a Bachelor's in Nursing Degree, and then obtaining a Registered Nurse license in the state of California.
